Fee Subsidy Program

Fee Subsidy and Warm Water Swim Program and Subsidy

What is the fee subsidy program?

The City of Davis allocates funds each year tto help offset the cost of City recreation programs for low income households.  Those who qualify receive 50% of program fees up to their allotted household amount.  Because the amount of funding and number of subsidy requests varies, we are not able to provide a specific income cut-off for applications.  Families with the lowest incomes will be granted subsidies first.

Beginning February 1, 2011, we will be accepting scholarship applications for the periods of Summer 2013, Fall 2013, and Winter/Spring 2014. The initial application period for this year ends Friday February 15, 2013, when the bulk of the funds will be distributed. There will be a small portion of funds set aside for distribution throughout the year on a first come/first serve basis.

What is the Warm Water Pool program?

The City of Davis is working cooperatively with the Davis Athletic Club and Physical Edge-South, to provide persons with qualified disabilities better access to warm water aquatic recreation. This program will permit persons with qualified disabilities to utilize the warm water facilities at Davis Athletic Club or at Physical Edge-South at a special membership rate.

In addition, low income individuals residing within the Davis Joint Unified School District boundaries may apply for a subsidy of fees from the City of Davis. Eligibility depends on income and family size. Applications for the Scholarship/Fee Subsidy program are collected on a year round basis. However, the bulk of funds are distributed during the initial application period.

Inital application deadline: Friday February 15, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.
