About our Recreation Program
The goal of the Recreation program is to provide a wide variety of recreational opportunities to all Davis residents. The program achieves this goal by directing and programming operation of aquatic facilities including lessons, lap swim, and emergency services (lifeguard, water rescue and first aid); coordinating services with a variety of co-sponsored groups such as AYSO, Little League, and others; operating athletic facilities; maintaining education programs and classes including gymnastics, arts and crafts, and dance classes; providing a variety of structured seasonal camp activities such as Camp Putah, Rainbow Summer, and Summer Quest; planning and managing special events such as the Davis Children's Nutcracker and Fourth of July; managing and operating Teen Programs and other programs for youth; and providing inclusive recreational opportunities.

Located in Playfields Park, at 2500 Research Park Drive, the Batting Cages offer slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball and hardball in four lanes.
